I shake my head, halting that thought immediately.
No need for foolishness. He’s Ugo for goodness’ sakes. He barely says a word to me. I’d drive him crazy with all my talking.
We’re from different worlds.
My mother would never approve.
Plus, he’s not even my type.
He’s short.
But just as tall as you.
I grip the toothbrush and turn it on, letting the vibrating sound tune out the voice in my head.
He’s skinny and ugly.
Liar. Liar. You know you’ve always thought of him as ruggedly handsome and athletic.
He’s poor.
Aha. Wrong. A self-made hard worker. Not a daddy’s boy like you’re used to.
No matter how many times I shake my head, I can’t seem to silence the voice inside, chronicling my shallow dating history.
I could write a blog called Brenda’s Bad News—all about the idiots I’ve dated. And I wouldn’t run out of material for ages.
