Date Conversations- Starting Over again.

This week’s excerpt is a conversation between Onome and Nnamdi on a date night.

In this scene, Nnamdi wants to know how she feels about their relationship.

“Do I make you happy, Onome?”

Nnamdi looked nervous when he asked this question. She watched him take another sip of his drink before putting it down on the marble table in front of them.

Taking her hand in his, he focused his attention on her. “Are you happy? Are you happy with the way things are between us?”

Onome hesitated. She thought about his question, the underlying meaning of his question. Was she happy to continue living with him? Was she content without marriage?

There was a time when the answer to this question would have been an immediate “no”. But now, she wasn’t so sure.

She had asked herself this question many times without a definite answer springing to mind. She loved Nnamdi without a doubt.

However, there were times when she wondered if she could settle for this.

“I’m happy now,” she answered truthfully, squeezing his hand. “I want to focus on now and not worry too much about the future.”

I hope you enjoyed it.
