As soon as she shut the door, Nnamdi pulled her into his arms and placed his forehead against hers, breathing harshly.
He was taller than her by a few inches, so he had to bend his neck a bit.
Onome’s heart raced uncontrollably at his nearness.
“Onome, we don’t have to do this,” he murmured huskily. “I hope you know your job is safe, no matter what happens here tonight.”
Her throat tightened, and her chest expanded with the intense emotions rising within her.
“I want you badly.” He pulled back and gazed into her eyes. There was a tortured look in his eyes. As if he was fighting for control. “But, I also want you to know that you can turn me down with no repercussions. You are a fantastic banker, an asset to the firm. You can tell me to piss off and—”
“Shut up and kiss me,”she whispered, cutting him off.
She heard his harsh intake of breath before his mouth captured hers.
